A Message from the Executive Director

"CEM to Pursue a People-Oriented Ministry!"

The ultimate challenge in every generation of the church is to “make disciples.” While every culture has its obstacles, the imperative remains…win (Reach 3), build (Plant 3) and send disciples—disciplined [Disciple 3] followers of Jesus Christ.

Church Education Ministries is committed to being a service-oriented ministry.  To that end we must be intentional and perpetual in our efforts to:

  • possess a passion for excellence
  • be a learning organization
  • match strategies to the resources of our ministry
  • never settle for mediocrity
  • glorify God

Vision is about a preferred future.  Let me share a glimpse into our future together -

Systematic Bible Study

Systematic Bible Study (SBS) will remain an essential strategy for intentionally making disciples-spiritual growth. The two primary forms of SBS, Sunday school and small groups, provide life application of Bible knowledge and Pentecostal-evangelical theology.  To better equip IPHC adult Sunday school teachers, CEM will continue with its Jump Start resource. This free, seven-minute, high-speed Internet video gives teaching hints and an application for each Sunday’s lesson. (http://cem.iphc.org/cem/jmpst.html).

Equipping the Saints

Our strategy for developing leaders on the local level will continue with the development and expansion of our Equipping the Saints Schools of Ministry for local churches. The Basic Level provides core training for every believer. The Leadership Level is designed to prepare local church leaders for greater effectiveness. Youth Ministry

Youth Quest, the national youth ministry of the IPHC, is committed to equipping and mobilizing youth and youth workers in order to secure the Pentecostal future of the IPHC.  This vision is carried out through a variety of resources, web-based and print, as well as on-going events.

The bi-annual Youth Quest event continues to be the largest single IPHC gathering in the nation.  The 2006 Youth Quest will be held in Daytona Beach, Florida (July 17-20) and will include morning and evening high energy services, as well as outreach, workshops, and the National Fine Arts Festival.  The Fine Arts Festival will be expanded to include more IPHC teens.  This event will also feature special guests, Contemporary Christian Music artists, Building 429, and the King of Kings Skateboard Ministry.

In odd-numbered years, Youth Quest will focus on teen mission’s trips, disciple-making ministries (such as TWIN Training Events), national youth and children’s workers training, and the National Fine Arts Festival.

The Youth Quest web page is a resourceful web site and can be found at http://yq.iphc.org.

ALLIES is the national youth workers association for the IPHC and continues to provide quality resources for quality youth workers.  The Army of the Awakened is a free network for teenagers.  Their membership affords them monthly web-based resources such as devotions, a newsletter, and identification materials.  The AOA presently has 3,066 members.  TWIN (Teen World Intercession Network), began in 2003, and has grown to over 400 members.  This network provides its members web-based monthly prayer alerts and prayer training lessons.

Children’s Ministries

Our vision for children’s ministries has been broadened to include the addition of a full-time National Director of Children’s/Pre-Teen Ministry.  As I started reflecting on the ramifications of my election, I pondered putting a team together in CEM. While engaged with many thoughts, my focus and burden shifted to the need to provide our local churches and conferences with a full-time specialist in this ministry arena.  I, consequently, made the decision to not hire an assistant director of CEM but rather to use the financial resources allocated for this position to fund this ministry specialist.  I trust that you share in my excitement about the potential of taking this ministry to a new level of influence.

Royal Rangers

Royal Rangers is the premier evangelistic and discipleship ministry for all young men in kindergarten through the twelfth grade.  Motivated by a new curriculum and a renewed focus on training leaders, the future promises to be even better.  Royal rangers are poised to pursue with passion the destiny God has planned for them. The Royal Rangers Website can be found at (http://www.royalrangers-iphc.org).

Adult Ministries

CEM will continue to equip IPHC adults through online resources.  These resources will help you in every dimension of life:  home, work, recreation, and church.  Consult the Adult Ministries website for more information (http://com.iphc.org/cem/adultmin.html).
