The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delighteth in his way.
Psalm 37:23

The National Children's Ministries Office dedicates itself to working with and developing leaders and teachers who are currently serving in a full-time, part-time, or a volunteer capacity in their local church. Our desire is to engender and encourage genuine enthusiasm and lasting commitment within established and developing children's ministries programs, while seeking to enhance and cultivate the leadership gifts of those individuals who are daring to change the world by serving children.

Go Small, Grow BIG!

Take a look at a new way of doing children’s ministry that’s sweeping the nation

Imagine a children’s ministry where children beg to come. Where kids never want to miss a thing. Where no volunteer ever complains. Where children’s lives are changed and their faith grows. Where you breathe a sigh of relief every Sunday because you know—without a doubt—that everything is going well.

2009 Global Quest Offering

Each year, Youth Quest commits to partner with ministries within the IPHC to “make an impact.”  In 2008, through the Global Quest Offering, youth from the IPHC contributed $30,000 to Free Camp, People to People Ministries, and Metro Ministries’ Christmas Project.

We have the privilege of partnering with these three ministries again through the Global Quest Offering!  This year, we are asking our children to help make an impact on the people's lives as well.

UP

Carl Fredricksen is a quiet young boy who meets a tomboy named Ellie and discovers they share the same interest in exploration as their hero, famed explorer Charles Muntz. Ellie expresses her desire to move her clubhouse to Paradise Falls in South America, a promise she makes Carl keep. Carl and Ellie wed and grow old together in the old house where they first met. Unable to have children, they also try to save up for the trip to Paradise Falls but other financial obligations arise. Just as they seem to finally be able to take their trip, Ellie dies of old age, leaving Carl living alone in their home as a sour recluse with nothing to live for.

As the years pass, the city grows around Carl's house with construction as Carl refuses to move. After a tussle with a construction worker over Carl's broken mailbox, the court orders Carl to move into Shady Oaks Retirement Home. Carl comes up with a scheme to keep his promise to Ellie, and creates a makeshift airship using thousands of helium balloons which lift his house off its foundation. Russell, a Wilderness Explorer trying to earn his "Assisting the Elderly" badge, has stowed away on the porch after being sent on a snipe hunt by Carl the day before.

Playful Faith
Children’s ministry is serious business—that’s why we need to play.
Keri Wyatt Kent

The stakes in children's ministry, if you think of it, are high. We are responsible for the next generation of God's faithful. Based partly on our input, these young charges will follow Christ—or not. There are so many temptations vying for our children's attention and allegiance. This is serious business.
